When some of the greatest in the Australian wedding industry join together to collaborate with international floral extraordinaire, Karen Tran, you know to expect nothing short of spectacular. And spectacular is exactly what was produced on Australia Day at Dockside Group’s L’Aqua Gold Room. This team of premier industry suppliers came together to create an evening of magic.
On Monday 26th January 2015, we were honoured to host an intimate dinner with Karen Tran at Dockside Group’s L’Aqua Gold Room; an inviting space comfortably nestled atop the Cockle Bay Wharf complex, offering uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour.
Karen and her team, along with Australian suppliers Flower Culture by John Emmanuel, Events By Nadia and Chandeliers To Die For, transformed the room beyond recognition.
Guests entered a room adorned with the luxurious rich tones of cranberry, fuchsia, lilac and gold. The custom-made floral table centrepieces measured 1.8 metres and featured Phalaenopsis Orchids, Ecuadorian Roses and Tulips. Crystal candelabras perfectly filled the gaps between the floral arrangements and nine suspended crystal chandeliers added the perfect amount of sparkle.
An extravagant floral gown, designed by Pallas Couture and constructed by Karen and Flower Culture by John Emmanuel, took centre stage in the V-shape table setting. In complete contrast to the rest of the room, the gown was a vision of white, featuring a bodice of fine French tulle and beaded lace, and a train of Phalaenopsis Orchids, Ecuadorian Roses, Hydrangeas and Lilies.
Pallas Couture also created custom gowns for Karen Tran and model Sarah Jehan, as well as provided the gown for Aileen Tran, Creative Director of Karen Tran Events.
The place settings were perfectly finished with gold glitter stationery custom designed and produced by Natalie By Design.
Our lovely guests wined and dined on delicious Robert Oatley reds, whites and sparkling and enjoyed a menu that featured salmon, beef and duck. The Seb Thomas Duo of Funkified Entertainment had the guests singing and dancing – even in the rain!
Bells N Whistles Events ensured the evening ran perfectly, paying attention to every last detail and ensuring our guests received the true Wedded Wonderland treatment.
The scent of the evening was courtesy of Oleria Emporium. The Tahitian Gardenia soy candles filled the room with an exquisite aroma of tropical flowers.
After the dinner, guests stepped outside to view the spectacular Australia Day fireworks. But it didn’t stop at the fireworks.
No guest left empty handed, with each receiving a stunning pair of Roman & French earrings or cufflinks and a delectable chocolate and popping candy tart prepared by Ray & Lou from Chefs About.
Behind the scenes the team were all glammed up by Rupunzels Room, and transportation was provided by HF Wedding Cars and GM Cabs.
All official images were captured by Dean from Inlighten Photography, who never fails to get a crowd going. We have never seen a group of adults run so fast to take part in a selfie!
We are also excited to be releasing the official highlight film in the coming days produced by Iconic Films. Keep an eye out – you won’t want to miss it!
