The current Wedding restrictions in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland are as follows at October 21st 2021. Below is a simple breakdown of the ongoing restrictions state by state:
New South Wales:
For those who are fully vaccinated and exempt:
- 1 person per 4sqm for indoor areas
- 1 person per 2sqm
- Do not have to be seated while consuming food and drink
- Dancing is permitted
- Can attend a Wedding anywhere in NSW (will be allowed to travel regionally on November 1)
- Follow the face mask rules; see here
For those who are not fully vaccinated:
- You can attend a small Wedding service with up to 11 people attending, being:
- the people getting Married
- the person Marrying them
- two witnesses
- a person to record the service
- 5 guests
- Must be seated while consuming alcohol and while eating and drinking
- Dancing is permitted
- Masks are required both indoors and outdoors
Victoria:
From 11:59pm tonight for those who are fully vaccinated:
In metropolitan Melbourne:
- 20 persons allowed indoors
- 50 persons allowed outdoors
- Face masks required both indoors and outdoors
In regional Victoria:
- 30 persons allowed indoors
- 100 persons allowed outdoors
- Face masks required both indoors and outdoors

Queensland:
- 1 person per 2sqm or 200 people or 100% allocated seated and ticketed capacity – whichever is the greater
- All guests are able to dance indoors and outdoors – subject to the 1 per sqm rule
- Face masks to be worn indoors and outdoors when unable to stay 1.5 meters away from other people
For Brisbane, Gold Coast, Moreton Bay, Logan, Townsville and Palm Island:
- Indoor Weddings can take place with a density limit of 1 person per 2sqm or 200 people or 100% allocated seated and ticketed capacity – whichever is greater
- All guests can dance (indoors and outdoors) subject to the 1 person per 2sqm rule
- No limit on outdoor events
- Eating and drinking while standing is allowed
- Face masks to be worn indoors and outdoors when unable to stay 1.5 meters away from other people
