The Royal Invites Have Been Sent Out. Here’s Everyone That Didn’t Made The Cut

Check your letterboxes, Fairies, the Royal wedding invitations are officially in transit.

“Invitations to the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have been issued in the name of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales,” reads the Palace’s Twitter statement.

But who’s made the cut?

Family

According to the Daily Star, Meghan Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Junior, will not be attending the big day amid alleged domestic assault charges early last year.

However, her mother, Doria Radlan and father, Thomas Markle Senior, are expected to attend.

Prince William could be set to walk her down the aisle though, despite Meghan preferring her mum to give her away.

Obamas and Trumps

With an American marrying into the royal family for the first time, there was speculation over whether Donald Trump will receive an invitation. Prince Harry has an ‘established relationship’ with the Obamas and Meghan Markle reportedly dislikes Trump, however neither the Obamas or the Trumps will receive an invite. According to royal protocol, politicians don’t have to be invited to weddings that aren’t for the next in line to the throne.

Elton John

According to The Sun, Elton John will be attending the royal wedding. He has cancelled two Las Vegas gigs on the same May weekend as the royal nuptials, which leaves him free to attend or even perform. The singer was a close friend of Harry’s mum, Princess Diana, and famously sang Candle in the Wind at Diana’s funeral in 1997.

Spice Girls

Mel B was speaking on US talk show The Real when she confirmed that all five of the Spice Girls were invited to the wedding. Mel B said: “I’m not saying any more,” but when she was asked whether they would perform or not, she grinned and looked down at her hands.

“I’m going to be fired!”, Mel B said.

According to Newsweek, 600 guests are attending the vow ceremony at St. George’s Chapel near Windsor Castle and all 600 of them are invited to Queen Elizabeth II’s lunch reception after the wedding at St. George’s Hall. But only 200 guests will get to attend the private evening reception afterward at Frogmore House.

We’ll just watch from home, wishing for our own Prince.
