Our Fairy Godmother has returned from Phuket, Thailand after MC-ing the 4th Annual Destination Wedding Planners Congress. And just as we thought – the sun and sand were absolutely beautiful, but according to Wendy El Khoury, Director at Wedded Wonderland, being surrounded by some of the most fascinating wedding planners from around the world proved the best is yet to come. Here’s the latest on what she discovered.

There will be more options and more opportunity available for couples when it comes to planning and hosting a destination wedding. “The global wedding market is only growing, and the creatives that work within this industry are refining their skills each day,’’ says El Khoury.

Experiential Dining is so hot right now

It’s one of the hottest travel trends of 2016, and its popularity is not slowing down. Couples are embracing experiential dining and authentic flavours when it comes to feeding friends and family at their destination wedding. “We find guests are more open to experimenting with new cuisines, such as game meat, which definitely enhances their entire experience,” said Aleit Swanepoel, Founder & Chairman at The Aleit Group, South Africa.
