Sydney-siders, Yasmine Parker and Ricardo De Salis have hit international fame, with news outlets across the globe praising the newlyweds for having the ‘world’s cutest flowergirls‘ at their wedding.
Yasmine, 26 and Ricardo, 25 got married in November asked their three grandmothers to walk own the aisle ahead of the bride as their flowergirls!
Yasmine spoke to Daily Mail saying, “It was actually my husband Ricardo’s idea. He had a lot of children in his family and I had a few but we weren’t inviting them due to space limitations so he suggested our grandmothers,”
“The three of them are very precious to us and when we asked them to be our flower girls they were so proud and honoured. They were over the moon.”
Not only were these flowergirls probably the best behaved in the history of weddings, but 88-year old Jean, Doreen, who’s 93, and Yasmine’s grandmother Rouhanieh who’s 96, used the occasion to get completely glammed-up!
Rouhanieh wore a gown by White Runway (which was altered to fit her figure perfectly), while Jean wore an Anthea Crawford number and Doreen went for a custom gown!
Yasmine explains that all of the grandmothers speak different languages and come from different countries, yet it doesn’t hold them back from a friendship, “At dinner parties, they insist they sit together as well. Our families truly treat them with very high respect. Each one of them, coming from different countries, has gone through hard ship and their faces tell so much.”
