SAG Awards: The Best Dressed

The 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards sees a full-fledged return to an in-person carpet, one year after the spectacular virtual red carpet of 2021. The year’s greatest actors went all out with their dazzling attire.

As ensemble casts from cinema and television reunited on the red carpet with an upbeat mood.

Like any other award ceremony, the wait is on to see the latest fashion dos and don’ts.

Inspired by this year’s best dressed, we’ve compiled some ways you can incorporate some of these looks into your next wedding!

Alexandra Daddario

People can’t get enough of the timeless allure of Old Hollywood fashion styles, no matter how many decades pass.

These outfits are fascinating, sophisticated, and enticing, with a sense of “dressing up” that isn’t seen as much nowadays. White Lotus star, Alexandra Daddario walked the red carpet in a plunging metallic gown with a thigh high split. The actress completed the look with a classic side part and bold red lip.

Whether you’re a guest or the Bride, there is no doubt that classic and timeless will never fail you. You’ll look back one day and not want to change a thing.

Hoyeon Jung

This year’s carpet saw multiple black gowns, embellished with sequins and beading.

Making her SAG Awards debut, actress Hoyeon Jung stunned in a custom Louis Vuitton black spaghetti strap silk dress, hand-embroidered with crystals and silver beads. Paying homage to Korean traditions, Hoyeon wore her hair back in a long braid with a bedazzled scarf to match her clothing.

You might want to weave in something special to your tradition in your wedding look, be it an accessory or on your gown. Similarly, adding something meaningful to you will make your day even more special and unforgettable!

Selena Gomez

Always nailing it is nonother than Selena Gomez. With a sleek beribboned updo and sumptuous notes befitting of a red-carpet homecoming, Selena Gomez underlined the power of a simple recipe at the SAG Awards.

She channelled a Daphne Bridgerton silhouette complemented by a lovely sateen bow tucked into a centre-parted midi knot, giving the gorgeous moment some extra fun.

A fusion of classic aesthetics and pinches of contemporary is the formula for a striking moment. For instance, with puffy sleeves, being prevalent in bridal gowns, adding modern touches gives the perfect balance to not look as though you came out of an oil painting!

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington exuded warmth in a strapless yellow ballgown by Celia Kritharioti, a Greek designer. Messika jewelry, a smokey eye, Old Hollywood waves, and a bright berry lip for a punch of colour completed the look.

She was a ray of sunshine on the red carpet with her bright look.

After a few melancholy and miserable COVID induced years, some colour is just what we need. If the wedding permits, go for bright and bold looks to give this celebration of love a little brighter.

Reece Witherspoon

Looking stunning as usual, the ‘Legally Blonde’ actress walked the Sag Awards red carpet in a Schiaparelli gown. Its uniquely swirled neckline and baby blue belt added some vibrancy to the ensemble.

Likewise, the larger-than-life sash instantly reminded us of that ‘something blue’ that reminds Brides of fidelity and love’s purity.
