After a seven-year hiatus from the glitz and glamor of her career, Rihanna is stepping back into the limelight. Revealing her second pregnancy as she stepped out onto the 2023 Superbowl stage – and smashing it out of the park – she now shares a little glimpse of what life looks like for the nine-time Grammy Award Winner, and one of her greatest accomplishments yet, motherhood.
Welcoming her son in May of 2022, she has now formally introduced her nine-month-old baby boy to the world. Speaking to Vogue, the megastar details what those first few months of motherhood looked like, sharing, “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever.”
“You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because…because it doesn’t matter.”
When asked if the star was getting a good night’s rest, she sets the record straight, “You know I don’t. Look at us right now. No, I’m up. I’m like, ‘OK, time to watch some Housewives.’ These are my hours.” Ah, a tale as old as time.
She goes on to say how this new chapter has opened up a world of possibility, “It’s this knowing that you can do anything, even things that seem the craziest, like, ‘I’m going to say yes to the Super Bowl in the middle of postpartum? What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did. You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’”
With a surprise pregnancy announcement on football’s biggest night of the year with partner, A$AP Rocky, Rihanna shares her desire for more children.
“Listen, I’m down for whatever. My wish would be I would like to have more kids but whatever God wants for me, I’m here.”
There’s no doubt that Rihanna is taking motherhood in her stride, and while she vows to protect the privacy of her son, we find ourselves grateful for these little peeks into the star’s newest season of life.
