RESEARCH PROVES THAT COUPLES WHO DRINK TOGETHER, STAY TOGETHER

As if we needed another reason to have a glass of wine!

A study by (our new favourite) researchers from the University of Michigan have found that couples who share a sneaky bevvie or two together are better off than the Marriages in which only one partner drinks.

Undertaken with 3,000 couples who’ve been Married for an average of 33 years, the study showed that if one partner in the relationship does the majority of the drinking, it tends to be an unhappier Marriage – especially if the one drinking was the wife!

Each couple was interviewed by researchers and also had to complete questionnaires that delved into their drinking habits and the quality of their Marriage.

One of the researchers, Dr. Kira Birditt told Reuters, “We’re not suggesting that people should drink more or change the way they drink.”

“We’re not sure why this is happening, but it could be that couples that do more leisure time activities together have better marital quality.”

Cheers, Fairies!
