Questions To Consider When Selecting Your Wedding Reception

One of the first steps you take in your Wedding planning process is selecting your Wedding Reception! There are many factors to consider when choosing your Wedding venue; location, size, packages & inclusions, photoshoot opportunities and having a personal connection with the venue. Here are a few questions to consider when selecting your Wedding venue – hopefully these narrow down your options and stresses!

Does the reception have spaces available to accommodate your guest size?

Capacity – your venue should have enough room to accommodate your guests comfortably. Always factor in room for chair movement, walkways and a generous dance floor space! Hyatt Regency Sydney offers two amazing venues; Maritime Ballroom and Grand Ballroom which both seat 600 and accommodate for 1000 cocktail.

Food and beverage offerings:

Whether you’re planning to have a traditional multi-course meal or a shared buffet feast, you need to know the food and beverage packages your venue offers! Does the venue offer canapes on arrival, are drinks and alcohol included in the package, can the venue customise a menu best suited to you if not do they have a list of recommended caterers? These are all questions you need to be asking when enquiring about a venue. Did you know Navarra offers mouth-watering food stations for Weddings? This offering is as unique as it is delicious – your guests will be left amazed and hungry for more!

All-inclusive packages:

One of the most important tips we can offer; all-inclusive Wedding packages will make your day a lot easier and save you more $$$. Ask the venue what inclusions are in their packages; linen, cutlery, crockery, centrepieces, chandeliers, backdrops, AV and sound, dance floor etc. Having all of these elements included in your package will save you $$$ hiring and purchasing, work with what the venue provides and then feel free to add on your extras. Clarence House Venues offer their Couples packages which are always tailor-made to suit each Couple’s needs, truly making each Wedding unique and special!

Pricing:

We hate to bring the dreaded Wedding budget into the mix, but this is something you’ll have to factor in before choosing your Wedding venue. Many venues provide a set price per head guide with their packages but it’s best to contact them to see what inclusions they offer and whether you can add/take out certain elements. Also something to keep in mind is the day of the week you choose to get Married as some venues offer special packages for mid-week Weddings!
