A truly unique opportunity to get married at some of the state’s most sought after and iconic wedding locations are now available to book through the NSW Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages’ new exclusive micro-wedding service.
This micro-weddings offer couples the opportunity to have the wedding of their dreams on a more intimate scale.
You pick from one of the stunning venues on offer and the Registry take care of the legal responsibilities and provide a celebrant and beautifully styled ceremony.
A micro-wedding through the Registry can include all the traditional wedding requirements such as the food and beverage reception packages, accommodation, photography packages, bouquet and buttonholes. All legal requirements are also taken care of including the wedding ceremony, booking of the celebrant and venue, lodgement of notice of intention to marry as well as a standard and commemorative wedding certificate.
NSW Registrar Amanda Ianna said the Registry is working with some of the most iconic venues and locations in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong in a special micro-wedding event series, to offer couples these dream locations at a fraction of the usual cost.
“Couples will have the opportunity to get married at a dream wedding venue, styled beautifully to make it a truly memorable and affordable day,” Ms Ianna said.
“Along with the perfect location, micro-weddings offer couples the opportunity to build their dream wedding by selecting a number of add-ons depending on their budget and preferences. Booking through the Registry means all the hard work has been done making it a more enjoyable and easier to organise wedding experience.”
The Registry will release four themed collections of micro-wedding venues from July 2021 to June 2022. These themes will be City, Coastal, Heritage and Country.
The first “City” collection of venues are now available to book and will take place from July to September at the following locations.
Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb

The wedding ceremony will take place in the award-winning Hyde Hacienda Sydney Lounge + Bar, located in the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour.
It is a luxurious, modern city wedding venue with elevated views of Sydney Harbour.
The venue design was influenced by 1950s Miami and is a colourful, contemporary space featuring floor-to-ceiling windows.
Following your ceremony, you can enjoy a range of dining options in Australian inspired Q-Dining restaurant with views of Circular Quay or in a private dining or reception space.
The Old Clare Hotel
The Old Clare Hotel in Chippendale is a perfect fusion of urban cool design and old-world charm. Set among the cobble stone lane ways of Chippendale, this historic venue is perfect for a stylish and cozy winter wedding.
Wedding ceremonies will be held in the C.U.B suite of the heritage listed building and features the original fireplace, timber panelling, parquetry floors and a warm colour scheme.
A range of post ceremony dining options are available including a private reception, cocktails and canapes on the rooftop pool terrace or in the historic Clare Bar.
Vaucluse House is one of Sydney’s few 19th century mansions still surrounded by its original gardens and grounds.
Located close to Sydney CBD with free on-site parking, this historic location is the perfect venue for a beautiful spring wedding overlooking the blooming gardens.

The Chinese Garden of Friendship – Darling Harbour
Perfectly located in the heart of the city, the Chinese Garden of Friendship features exotic plants, blooming flowers, a lake of shimmering Koi and serene pathways leading to the Water Pavilion where you’ll say ‘I do.’

Bookings for “Coastal” venues will be released in May and will take place between October 2021 – January 2022. Venues will include Bondi Icebergs, Clovelly Surf Club and Mereweather Surf House in Newcastle to name a few.
