In a serendipitous twist of fate, the past week has given us a double dose of glamour and romance as North American it-girls Olivia Culpo and Olivia Palermo both celebrated their marital unions in spectacular events.

Two Olivias, two weeks, two weddings – what are the odds?

Culpo and Palermo aren’t just namesakes; they’re global fashion icons whose celebrations set the internet on fire. First, we watched former Miss Universe, Olivia Culpo, saying “I do” for the first time to the love of her life, Christian McCaffrey. Just a few days later, socialite Olivia Palermo renewed her vows, a decade after her low-key wedding day.

Olivia Culpo's Controversial Dolce & Gabbana Gown

Olivia Culpo’s gown for her wedding ceremony, a custom creation by Dolce & Gabbana, divided thoughts online, with some critics describing it as “too covered up” and lacking in personality. The dress, which was co-created between the bride and the Italian atelier, was a classic design, featuring long sleeves in crepe, a crew neckline and a buttoned back, with a 16-foot lace veil. Culpo told Vogue that she “didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form.”

Days later, Christian McCaffrey stepped in to defend Culpo from negative comments on social media. “What an evil thing to post online,” the NFL star replied to one critic. “I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does.”

Olivia Palermo's Triple Threat: Three Giambattista Valli Gowns

Known for her impeccable style, Palermo surprised everyone at her first wedding in 2014 with a simple Carolina Herrera ensemble. This time, she pulled out all the stops with not one, but three stunning Giambattista Valli haute couture creations.

Culpo's Rhode Island Romance

Olivia Culpo’s wedding weekend kicked off at the historic Ocean House resort in Watch Hill, Rhode Island

The couple chose the 150-year-old Watch Hill Chapel for their ceremony, fulfilling both Culpo’s wish for a traditional wedding in her home state and McCaffrey’s dream of marrying in a church.

Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl opted for a four-day celebration at the luxurious Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden, Germany

The couple chose the Villa Stéphanie Spa Suite, a location they had visited back in 2012, creating a perfect blend of nostalgia and new memories.
