Kourtney Kardashian just celebrated her 39th birthday and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t in awe of her seriously trim figure.
The mother of three is known for her clean eating and regular work out routine, so we did a little investigating to find out how she does it (and whether we could possibly keep up with her lifestyle choices. The answer is no).
She Follows A Fairly Strict Diet
The worst part of trying to stay fit is following a particular diet (we want to have our cake and eat it too, without putting on 5 kilos). Kourtney has previously revealed that her diet involves no dairy or gluten, which sounds a little too strict for us. However in the lead up to her birthday, Kourtney told fans through her app that she had begun to introduce small amounts of both back into her diet.
She Avoids Addictive Sugars
Being a sugar-fiend, the idea of letting go out tasty sugary treats sounds like torture. Kourtney revealed through her app last year that she avoids refined sugars, and gave some pretty solid reasons as to why. “First, sugar is addictive and I notice that after I eat it, I need it. Sugar doesn’t sustain you when you actually need energy, like for a workout. Also, when I eat sugar, I find that more cellulite appears.”
That means everything from lollies to soda (the latter of which she replaces with kombucha).
She’s A Green Tea Addict
The lower stomach is one of the hardest parts of the body to tone, so Kourtney drinks green tea to help keep her body in shape.
“First off, I’m allergic to coffee – it makes me insane! I get really hyper and really on edge when I drink it, so I stopped drinking it when I was 21 or 22 … Since I’ve stopped drinking coffee, green tea has been my go-to. I usually have a hot green tea in the late morning or early afternoon – even if it’s hot outside … Whenever I am trying to step up my workout regimen, I drink an extra iced green tea. I swear it makes my tummy flatter. Also, green tea can help reduce the signs of cellulite.”
She Starts Her Morning With Apple Cider Vinegar
As with every tip, Kourtney told her app users that she starts her day with apple cider vinegar. She waits 20 minutes after waking up before mixing a glass of water with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. She then repeats this at night.
She’s Really Into Working Out
If you’re patting yourself on the back for hitting the gym once the week, take a seat (I’ve already taken mine) – Kourtney hits the gym between 5-6 times a week. She told E! News, “I think I take time for myself to work out every day, which I never did—especially having three young kids … I just never made it a priority, and now it just makes me feel so much better—mentally and physically.”
