Following a day of record temperatures, huge fires are still burning in NSW, Victoria and South Australia. Bushfires are threatening entire communities in Victoria, hundreds of homes have been destroyed in NSW, and more than a third of Kangaroo Island has burned.⠀ Across Victoria alone 923,000 hectares have been blackened and 39 fires are continuing to burn. For reference and context for our American followers – in Victoria, three fires combined to create one giant fire bigger than Manhattan. ⠀ Ecologists from the university of Sydney have estimated 480 million mammals, reptiles and birds have been lost since September- a number that is likely to sore as the fires continue to burn. ⠀ ⠀ The good news is the incredible @celestebarber has made history in generating over $17million for the cause. ⠀ ⠀ We encourage you to do your part and purchase or donate and we will donate all profits from sales over the next 24 hours to The Salvation Army, The Red Cross and Wires Wildlife Rescue. @salvosau @redcrossau @wireswildliferescue At first we thought: as a new, small business, how much can we actually help?
