How To: Continue Wedding-Planning

No one was prepared for 2020, especially COVID Couples. While the current circumstances may be disheartening, and certainly un-motivating – do not lose your focus! Keep the momentum going, and don’t surrender your productivity.

We have put together a list of wedding tasks that you can continue to do, even during these uncertain times. Whatever stage of wedding planning you’re at – these are great to keep you excited!

Happy scrolling, Fairies!

Build A Wedding Website

As the world moves online, so will wedding-planning. Take this time to get started on building your wedding website. This can be the central hub for all the information regarding your big day, and can serve as a communication platform where you can share updates with your guests – especially during these uncertain times.

Make Your Wedding Playlist

Grab your partner and release your inner DJ, Fairies! Select entrance songs, the first dance song, and the party songs. This task can take longer than expected, so make sure you give yourself some time to brainstorm on some music themes and eras that you would like to include on your special day. Speaking of dancing, better get started on that reception playlist. If you’ve already done this, come up with a ‘Do Not Play’ playlist, to keep your DJ or band informed on tunes you’d rather not listen to…

Write Thank You Notes

As the engagement gifts pile up, stay on top of sending out your thank you notes and alleviate some stress. You could even consider writing thank you notes to those who have sent well wishes and words of encouragement, during this difficult time. Practice the attitude of gratitude, Fairies!

Have A Menu Tasting

Believe it or not, many caterers are currently willing to pack up your menu options (even your wedding cake!), and deliver them to your house. Check in with your favourite catering companies and ask them how they have adapted to the new environment. Happy tasting!

Communicate With Your Planner

If you have hired a wedding planner, now is the time to make sure you two are on the same page. Huddle up with them in a video call and determine your next steps, but also remember to check in on them and let them know you appreciate them. The moral support is needed now more than ever, and knowing that you have a clear path forward will provide a sense of relief in these uncertain times.

Update Your Registry

If you’re as addicted to online shopping as we are – you’ll love this task! Spending more time at home means that you are now more aware of the things missing, or the things you’d like to have. Did you try to cook that yummy banana bread recipe but didn’t have the right-sized tray? Add it to your registry! Do you wish you had a fluffy robe to curl up in, as you become one with the couch? (Same, though.) Add it to your registry!

Take Virtual Dance Lessons

If you’re quarantining with your partner, there is no better time to work on those dance skills. There so many online services offering lessons in real-time, especially under the current circumstances. Reach out for some quotes and chuck on your dancing shoes, Fairies!
