We all know someone who’s great with kids; they simply walk into a room full of toddlers and get more affection than a puppy at Christmas time. We also know that person who can make a toddler cry at the drop of a hat.
If you’re the type of person that kids simply seem to hate, we have bad news for you.
According the a study which was published in Frontiers in Psychology (a health and science journal), children link how much they like and trust you based on how attractive they think you are. So, if a child thinks you pretty or handsome, they will automatically like you; whereas if a child doesn’t like you, it’s probably because they think you’re ugly!
The study, which was performed in China worked with a group of adults and a group of children. Both groups were presented with 200 male faces and were asked to rate them on like-ability (attractiveness and trustworthiness). The study found that the children ranked the ‘most handsome’ faces higher on the like-ability scale.
The same study found that the adult group also showed a clear link between faces they thought were attractive and faces they thought were trustworthy!
