Talk about a dedicated teacher! This Sunshine Coast primary school teacher’s year one class meant so much to her that she had all 22 students walk her down the aisle on her wedding.
Demi Hilton asked her doting students to be part of her big day after they started asking her about her engagement ring one day.
Husband Matt Hilton told The Today Show he expected nothing less from his bride: “When I met Demi she said she always wanted to be a teacher so to have them all walk down the aisle just made sense. She adores the guys and it made our day extra special. They’re a good bunch of kids and they did a great job on the day”.
One of Demi’s students reportedly started crying with excitement when Mrs Hilton asked the class to be involved. “Matt proposed to me in the week and then when I went to school the next day, of course the kids said ‘what’s that ring and where did you get it from? From that moment on, I knew I couldn’t do the day without them. Honestly, they’re so special to me.”
“I feel so blessed that they were able to be a part of our special day. We wouldn’t have had it any other way. As soon as I asked them if they would like to be walking me down the aisle, wow, it was an amazing feeling. I had kids jumping up and down, we had lots of hugs and I actually had one little girl burst into tears. She couldn’t contain her excitement.”
