Barcelona Bridal Week Showcases the Hottest Wedding Trends

Another international bridal fashion week has come to an end, and that means it’s time to look back at the latest wedding dress trends to make their way down the runway! Last season it was all about floral appliques and plunging necklines, but what shone this time around? Be inspired with the latest 2018 trends straight from the Barcelona Bridal runway to the wedding aisle.

Demetrios

The new collection of Demetrios captures the essence of romance with looks that convey elegance, modernity and timelessness. Featuring a great variety of silhouettes (straight, oval, fit’n’flare and very notched shapes), we can find an illusion of necklines – heart shape, sleeveless, turtleneck, halters, bare shoulders and V necklines – even luscious fabrics such as lace, satin and tulle that have been used when creating the dresses. An abundance of beads and crêpe never looked so luxurious!

Galia Lahav

The perfect element to every wedding dress design is love and care, which Galia Lahav implements here with delicate lace and great attention to detail. Along with various historical motifs such as high necklines and dramatic Victorian sleeves, Galia Lahav places great emphasis on the realm of sheerness in the garments, creating soft, illuminating silhouettes and endless beauty.

Pronovias

This year, Pronovias aimed to achieve an elegant ‘draped effect’, giving more movement to chic and modern wedding gowns. On the catwalk we discovered the latest bridal trend for 2018 – pockets! Perfect for the unconventional yet multi-purpose bride, even the fabrics used – such as chiffon, satin and silk – gives special attention. White gemstone embroidery was the final touch, completing the collection with a sublime sophistication.

Studio St Patrick

Studio St. Patrick is a collection of unique finishes and soft and sophisticated lines that enhance the female figure. The movement and lightness of the gowns are achieved by certain fabrics of lace and tulle, bringing a hint of romanticism to a 2018 bride. With the mermaid skirt currently trending for the season, this dress style is always flattering and fun, especially for brides that want to show off their body without wearing anything too modern or slinky.

Yolan Cris

For the fashion-forward bride, the comfort of Yolan Cris is a must. Soft and delicate fabrics were chosen such as gauze, tulle and lace to create a lighter bridal appeal. And to make an even more extravagant look, the designer focused on the high-neck style with appliques and an abundance of details. From relaxed and flattering to feminine sensuality and multi-layered structures, Yolan Cris brings peaceful tranquillity to life.

Jesús Peiró

Welcome to the world of art deco and playful silhouettes with Jesús Peiró’s vision of A-line skirting and an abundance of ultra-cool fabrics. Travelling back to tradition, the use of long sleeve gowns play an enormous role in retaining the elegance and grace of a winter bride, and don’t forget those bold necklines and pronounced shoulders that continuously shape the beauty of a fashion-forward woman.

Rosa Clara

Rosa Clara loves the feel of French lace that seems to be the star fabric of the collection: tulle, crepe, even hand-pleated muslin for fluid skirts were also supporting leads. How is a sophisticated and ‘dreamy-style’ dress achieved? With the addition of dramatic yet elegant capes on modern silhouettes that enhance the body in an organic way. Soft, light embroidery sewn by hand and the overall collection reflect the exceptional technique of the Rosa Clara signature.
