It’s not often I find a designer that gets me so excited, I let out a squeal. In the middle of the office. During an important editorial meeting. But, Ashi Studio’s couture SS2015 campaign made me do just that.
Ashi launched his label in 2007 and his signature style is sharp-cut shapes and curve-hugging, ladylike couture. His designs are the perfect balance of polished princess and femme fatale and each gown is like a piece of art – visually inspiring from every angle.
In the SS2015 collection, Ashi has brought back the 80s puffy-sleeve, making it elegant and exotic. His caped white gown has a Spanish Matador-feel with the structured ruffling and embellished shoulders and his burgundy kimono is distinctly Japanese inspired. This man is a couture-chameleon and I can’t get enough.
