This Adelaide Wedding Embraced the Lights and Colors of Summer

The Wedding of Tinisha and Alexander Constantine

While getting married in the summer is a go-to option, the sunshine and cheerful spirit were especially meaningful for Tinisha and Alexander Constantine who share Mediterranean roots. The couple thought it best to pay homage to their background by embracing the outdoors at the groom’s family estate. Nixing frills in favor of focusing on family and friends, the Constantine nuptials truly put the spotlight on what matters most to them: love and culture.

Check out all the details of their celebration held last December 2024:

Their Story

Tinisha and Alexander met online five years ago but they had coincidentally crossed paths long before. “We met in 2020, a year when so much in the world felt uncertain–but the one thing that felt certain was each other,” Tinisha tells Wedded Wonderland.

“We clicked instantly, getting along like a house on fire. It truly felt like we had known each other our entire lives, and that connection has only grown stronger ever since.”

The Proposal

As a couple who enjoys visiting the beach for all its scenery and tranquility, it makes sense for Alexander to have popped the question at one of their favorite spots: Palm Cove in Queensland. In the most romantic gesture, he had booked an anniversary trip but kept the destination a surprise. “I didn’t know where we were going until I got to the airport!” shares Tinisha.

“We had traveled there a few months prior and it was one of the most beautiful places we had ever seen, with our favourite restaurant! The proposal was along the beach with the most beautiful scenery in the background. It was simple with just the two of us–the way we like it!”

The Attire

Easygoing and carefree was the overall atmosphere that the couple was trying to achieve, which was also evident in their outfit choices. Tinisha looked ravishing in a flowy, halter-cut silk dress from LA-based bridal brand Katherine Tash. To go with the backless detail, she opted for a long beaded veil from Tania Maras. Her jewelry was kept minimal as well, going for simple pearl and yellow gold bracelets. A pair of white Amina Muaddi stilettos completed her look.

When it came to the reception, Tinisha changed into a flirty, beaded fringe dress with glittery heels from Valentino–all topped with a rhinestone-filled cowboy hat for the full party experience.

Alexander, on the other hand, selected a crisp tux with a pink boutonnière that matched Tinisha’s bouquet.

One interesting detail that stood out from their wedding was the choice of black for the bridesmaids’ dresses. This bold move added to the sophistication of the entourage who looked fabulous walking alongside the dark vintage cars.

The Venue

Alexander’s family estate served as the gorgeous backdrop for the big day, which proved seamless given the grand arches, stately brickwork, and sprawling backyard. “Hosting our wedding at the groom’s family home made it all the more meaningful—we wanted our loved ones to feel like they were celebrating love in a place close to our hearts,” shares Tinisha.

Given the couple’s “modern Mediterranean” inspiration, they wanted to transform the backyard into a “village-like” setting, which made it crucial to find the right vendors who understood her vision. Fortunately, Tinisha says that they all nailed the brief with lots of greenery, florals, and gold touches everywhere.

To further highlight their heritage, each guest received a bottle of olive oil lovingly grown in a family member’s grove, paired with traditional sugared almonds—”a nod to our roots and the generosity of our culture.”

The Reception

After tying the knot, the celebration moved into the reception area which was minimally, yet tastefully decorated with pastel flowers and predominantly white table settings. “To complement them, we incorporated fruits into the decor, blending natural elements with Mediterranean charm,” Tinisha proudly shares. The blooms were designed by Marielle Flower Studio.

As guests ate and drank, music was provided by Lebanese drums at one point which was a tribute to Tinisha’s Lebanese heritage. Greek dancing was also present, creating a heightened sense of tradition and togetherness.

“It was so special to have family traveling from all over to be there with us and even more special seeing those of all ages on the dance floor!”

Tinisha and Alexander’s backyard wedding beautifully showcased how meaningful details and heartfelt traditions can turn a celebration into an unforgettable experience. Wishing the couple a lifetime of love and happiness!
