A Wedding In A French Art Haven

Once upon a time, during the days of MySpace and MSN, Daniel and Natalie got to know each other during their regular online chats after school. Following their High School graduations, the pair took a trip to Ocean Grove with their friends. When they returned, Daniel and Natalie went on their first date, and so their adventure began!

On Natalie’s 25th birthday, the couple took a trip to the snowy terrains of Mt Buller. The couple hiked to a lookout that offered breathtaking views; a sheer drop looking out over the surrounding snow-covered mountains. While Natalie was taking a panoramic photo on her phone, Daniel was frantically trying to set up a GoPro on a log. When she turned around, Daniel was waiting for her on one knee with a Tiffany blue box in his hands. Needless to say, Natalie exclaimed a great big yes!

Natalie and Daniel wanted their first dance to ‘A walk in the skies’ by Joe Hisaishi to be perfect, and had six weeks of lessons mastering the Viennese Waltz with a lift! The couple was later told that a waitress ended up in tears after witnessing their sweet first dance.

We have to say Fairies, that our favourite aspect of this wedding (besides the beautiful couple!), is the location of the ceremony and photoshoot! In the countryside of Victoria, lies a French art-inspired haven, called Montsalvat. Montsalvat’s artist-founder, Justus Jörgensen, took his inspiration from the villages of France, but the Montsalvat he built with artist friends and families, notably the prodigiously talented Skipper family, is fashioned out of the clay and stone of this beautiful Eltham hillside, and pieced together with many remnants of Australia’s architectural heritage. We honestly have no words… but images will do!
