The wonderful thing about weddings is that every bride has the opportunity to create her own unique and stunning day. The theme, colour scheme, couple’s entrance, and even the first slow dance are all a reflection of who the bride (and groom) is and it’s different for every bride you see.
Table of Contents
That might just be one of our favourite parts of planning a wedding. It’s why we love to show our Fairies all of the different ways they can bring their fairy tale to life.
You’ve seen us show you how to include pastels, and while it’s a stunning trend, the soft, muted colours might not be for everyone. In case you’re a bride who is after a more bright and bold look, we’ve put our heads together and found all the ways you can add a pop of colour to your wedding.
Pom Poms
They’re definitely bright and bold, but they’re also all the fun you’ll need to liven up any party. Keep all other decorations and table settings clean and simple, and add your pop of colour with hanging pom poms, disco balls, and lights.
The wonderful Kate Dawes Flower Design always create stunning installations, and they definitely knew how to work those pom poms!
Balloons
You absolutely cannot go past a balloon display when looking to add colour to your wedding. They’re also another fun addition to your event and will impress every guest – even the hardest to please.
Neon Lights
If bright neon lights don’t add that pop of colour you’re after, we don’t know what will. The lights look great against a dark background and create a bit of an edgy vibe.
For our brides who love the idea of neon lights but still like a toned down look, don’t fret, because there are also white neon lights that would be perfect for you.
Flowers
Of course, we’re going to talk about flowers. Is it really a wedding without at least some sort of floral display?
Although it’s been quite popular to have soft coloured blooms, especially white and pale pinks, you can easily amp up the brightness by mixing up the colour palette. Whether you have a gorgeous flower wall or you keep the flowers as just table decorations, they’ll certainly create an explosion of colour.

Table Settings
Speaking of table decorations, choosing the right linens and charger plates are yet another way for you to create a colourful setting at your wedding. Go wild with your colour choices and don’t shy away from a theme that stands outside of the status quo.
Grazing Table
Ok, so this might not seem like an obvious choice, but grazing tables are a surprising way to add a pop of colour. Depending on the season and the fruits that are available, you can create a spread that will liven up any party. It’ll also taste delicious, which is always a huge plus.
Cakes
Last, but certainly not least, a bright and bold cake is another way to incorporate some colour in your wedding. Whether you choose a buttercream or a fondant finish, a cake can easily stand out from the crowd and be the perfect showstopper. Let your creative side loose and go wild.
