7 RULES FOR STYLING YOUR RECEPTION TABLE

Styling your Wedding reception tables should be a fun and exciting part of the Wedding planning process, but it can also be a tricky task to master. You’ll want to include beautiful decorations and florals that match the theme of your Wedding, but they shouldn’t hinder the guest’s view of the dance floor throughout the night.

So, before you start purchasing blooms and picking vases, we’ve spoken to three experts on the rules you need to know for styling your reception table.

1. Keep a Clear Zone

Stephanie from Table Top Towers says that it’s essential for Brides to ensure that the vases (which are overflowing with blooms) don’t block the guests’ view. “While there is nothing more breathtaking than a beautiful big arrangement of fresh flowers on your guest tables, no one wants to be staring into a giant vase all night long. Keeping your tables clear and open is essential in ensuring your guests are able to interact with one another and have a good time. Our Towers are designed to create maximum impact without creating a block between your guests and your centrepieces.”

2. Double Up

Rose and Jess from Mazii Collection reveal an insider tip that could save you loads on your Wedding budget: double up! “Make your bombonieres work harder for you by turning them into a piece of table décor, as well as name cards for your guests,” they say. “Favours, like candles, look beautiful on the reception table and at the end of the night, they turn into a gift that guests will actually take home and use!”

3. Pick a Prime Perfume

Fleur from Fleur Events recommends choosing seasonal flowers that have a fragrant scent, “Smell evokes memories, and on every anniversary of your wedding you will be reminded of that special time.”

4. Personalise It

Mazii Collection’s Rose and Jess explain that the best way to make your styling stand out is to personalise it! “From candles that are printed with the Bride and Groom’s names and Wedding date, to customised bombonieres, menus and place cards, the secret to an unforgettable reception table is personalisation.”

5. Fall in Love with Foliage

“Lush green foliage is so on trend right now,” says Table Top Tower’s Stephanie. “Use different foliage to create any wedding feel from modern chic to shabby chic or even classic elegance. It’s a great way to keep the cost down as well as looking spectacular.”

6. Take One Thing Off

Fleur from Fleur Events suggests laying out all of the styling elements and taking one thing away, “Coco Chanel once said, ‘Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.’ We like to stick by this rule. Simplicity is key.”

7. Focus on Space, Not Social

We can very easily get caught up in a style that we’ve spotted on Instagram or Pinterest, but Fleur explains that it’s more important that you work with a space, as opposed to trying to replicate a social media image.
