7 OF THE HOTTEST WEDDING TRENDS FOR SPRING

We’re over halfway through 2016, but Wedding season is just about to start! So, if you’re getting Married during Spring, we’ve found the hottest trends to keep in mind when you’re planning your Big Day.

1. Two Dresses in One

Designers are combining the formal ceremony gown and the fun reception frock into one! Yes Fairies, this means you can now wear your traditional dream dress walking down the aisle and then change into a sexy laces mermaid-cut gown! Did we forget to mention you get two looks for the price of one? #winning

2. Alfresco Options

This year, Brides are opting for venues that provide a number of spaces, both inside and outside for the newlyweds to host guests. This allows guests to move between rooms and enjoy the fresh spring air with some alfresco canapes before heading inside for the more formal part of the reception. Our tip? Look for a a venue with stunning waterfront views like Dunbar House, as this will make the perfect backdrop for photos!

3. Intimate is Ideal

Couples are steering away from the extravagant Weddings with 1,000+ guests and are choosing to have a more personal and intimate celebration instead. Having a smaller guest list means Bride and Groom will have more time to spend with their loved ones on the Big Day.

4. Pet-Friendly Wedding

Having your pet as a guest or a ring bearer is a great way to include your furry child in the Wedding day! Who wouldn’t want their cute dog or cat to witness the best day of their life? Before you organise a tuxedo for your paw-fect friend, be sure to check that your venue allows animals on the premise.

5. DIY Dominates

The popularity of DIY styling is going nowhere and we’ll see even more of the couple’s personal touches in the coming spring. From creative welcome signs to making your own bomboniere, DIY weddings are all about making it affordable for couples to get the styling they want at their Wedding.

6. Mismatched Bridesmaids

Mismatched Bridesmaids can look incredible if done properly! Remember to keep the dresses simple to achieve this look – use metallic or neutral colours like grey, silver or black. When your Bridesmaids love their dress, you can be sure that they’ll rock it with confidence.

7. Do more than just the cake

Traditional Wedding cake will never go out of style, but this spring, it’s all about giving guests some extra sweet-stuff with a self-service dessert or lolly bar. Get creative with what you choose to do, maybe consider a popcorn bar (with melted caramel, M&Ms and nuts) or an ice-cream stand.
