6 TRICKS TO KEEPING YOUR BRIDESMAIDS’ COSTS DOWN

So your besties have been chosen, your ‘maids are assembled and it’s time to get down to business. But, do they know what they’re in for?  Being a bridesmaid can be exxy, and some of your girlfriends might struggle to keep up with the costs. So, here are some tricks to save your bridesmaids some serious cash. #BFFE!

1. From Hen’s Night to Girls’ Night

The hen’s party; it’s the one night when hitting the town with a sash and a bridal veil whilst being straddled by a stripper is socially acceptable. But is it really necessary? You’ve probably been out with your girls more times than the aforementioned stripper has gyrated his hips, but when was the last time you had a girl’s night in? Trade in the sore feet, cold legs and cab fare for a warm house, plenty of alcohol, food and a DVD of Magic Mike. Who else can brag that they had Channing Tatum at their hen’s party?

2. Dress it Up (above the knee)

The gown is nearly everything for the bridesmaids, but it can also be their undoing. Spending hundreds of dollars on a dress that they’ll wear once is a little tough on the budget; so why not choose dresses that can be worn again? Ditch the long gowns and hitch it up just above the knee for a cocktail dress can be worn long after the vows.

3. Colour Coordinate

If trying to find a gown that suits the body shape of all your bridesmaids gets too hard, simply pick a colour and let your bridesmaids go nuts. That way, they have the freedom to find a dress they’re comfortable in and you’ll still have matching ‘maids to precede you down the aisle.

4. Gift It

Still stuck on what to buy your girls as a gift? Why not purchase their jewellery for your big day. Buying the accessories for all the bridesmaids like matching clutches, earrings, bracelets and necklaces is the perfect way to deck them out!

5. Travel Bug

Depending on where you are having your wedding, your bridesmaids may need to pay for accommodation. This in itself can be pricey, so instead of booking at a hotel, why not hire an entire house instead? Divided between yourself and the bridesmaids, it will cost less than a single room for one night in a hotel and will mean the party can continue on and on…

6. Presence Not Presents

Your bridesmaids are going to be there for you throughout one of the most exciting and stressful times in your life. Request no wedding gift from your best ladies, because their presence is the best gift of all!
