10 essential tasks you need to tick-off one month before your Wedding day

Your Wedding day is probably one of the biggest and most exciting events you will ever organise.

If you don’t have a wedding planner and you’re trying to organise your big day, you will agree that the glitz and glam doesn’t come without the pressures.

No matter how much planning you’ve done, the preparation leading up to your wedding day can be one of the most stressful days of your life as all the final details are very important.

Here are 10 essential tasks you MUST complete before the big day:

1. The Backup Plan

Being that extra bit prepared won’t hurt. Have a backup plan for all the minor and major details that could go wrong on the day. If you’re having a garden Wedding and it rains, make sure you have an alternative venue or if your florist cancels, do you have another option?

2. Delegate

Take the pressure off yourself and give your Bridesmaids, Maid-of-Honour or mum a job to take care of. Even if it’s helping finalise your reception seating, helping you pack your bags for your honeymoon or letting them take charge of on-the-day pressures. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind helping in any way they can.

3. Finer Details

Make a list and ensure the cars, venue, hairdresser, flowers etc are all confirmed prior to the big day. Focus on the most important details such as the dress and shoes and then start ticking everything else off.

4. Pamper Yourself

Make sure you continue to keep your stress levels down and get excited for the big day. Take a break and go on a yoga retreat with your Bridesmaids, spend a day at the spa or even have your own facial and spa day at home. It will help you stay focused and relaxed.

5. Wow Vows

If you are writing your own vows, make sure you write them at least a month prior to the day. This will give you time to go back and edit them until they are magical. You can even practice reading them to a close friend or family member and see their reaction.

6. RSVP ASAP!

Have your guest numbers and seating plan finished as soon as possible. If you need to contact anyone to check their attendance, do it and finalise your numbers. It’s one less thing you’ll have to worry about.

7. First Chance

Your first dance is your first chance to impress and unite as a Married couple. If you want to go to a couple of dance classes, make sure you book them in. Otherwise, take some time out and choose your special song together.

8. Ring Bling

Make some time to go to your jeweller and try on your rings. You don’t want them to slide off on the day. Making sure they are the right size could be a life-saver.

9. Glowing

Don’t forget about yourself and make sure you don’t leave your skin care regime to the last minute. If you’re wanting to correct any skin concerns, make sure you book an appointment asap. Or even if you’re wanting to DIY your own skin-nourishing masks, start your routine now.

10. Fairytale

Remember the real meaning behind your big day and don’t let all the preparations get in the way. Make sure you keep your date nights a priority, still attend your weekly family dinners and don’t turn into a Bridezilla!
